FSi Strikes Silver!

01/26/2007

FSi is the winner of the 2007 American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) Silver Award for Project Complexity with our Integration Lab for the Multi-mission Maritime Aircraft project!
The U.S. Navy awarded Boeing a contract to design and build 108 Multimission Maritime Aircraft (MMA), estimated at about $20 billion value, to preserve maritime armed surveillance intelligence and reconnaissance capabilities. Boeing hired the FSi-led team to design a state of the art high-technology electronics laboratory. The facility provides for the intensive integration of hardware and software required for the several electronic systems.
FSi successfully interviewed and worked with various owner’s users groups to coordinate more than 100 pieces of mission specific equipment, along with multiple racks housing numerous pieces of computer gear. FSi led the team through changing project requirements during the design effort, and provided a high level of construction support. The result on this complex project was a facility that met the owner’s needs, was completed on time, came in well under budget, is operating well and required no post-construction modifications.
