Central Administration Building Upgrade

FSi provided the heating, ventilation, plumbing and piping support for renovation of Tacoma School District’s Central Administration Building.

The building, originally built in 1912, has public entrances on two busy streets. To increase security, the design team relocated the main entrance to the rear of this historic building where the approach can be better controlled. The relocation and new lobby required modifications to the existing mechanical systems including replacement of the custom direct-drive, 84-rpm fan motors that had replaced the original steam-driven fan motors.
