Domestic Hot Water Heater Replacement at 16 Apartment Buildings

As the prime consultant, FSi designed replacement of existing electric boilers with high-efficiency gas-fired water heaters at 16 different senior and low-income apartment buildings.

The buildings range from six to 16 stories, and 53 to 126 units. To increase efficiency, boilers serving the domestic hot water system at each building are being replaced with high-efficiency units. Special consideration was given when routing the flue vent and combustion air to and from the boiler rooms, and routing the natural gas piping to the boiler rooms, since there was no existing gas at any of the sites.
