FSi provided the HVAC, piping, plumbing and fire protection design for this $9.2 million border patrol station for the Department of Homeland Security. The 20,000 s.f. facility contains offices, a detention facility with sally port, an exercise area with a locker room and various support spaces. Special ventilation systems and controls were designed for the detention area to allow for varying outside air flow and smoke evacuation. The project was a design-build effort on a fast-track schedule that allowed construction to start while designs were being worked on.
